Getting There
Flights from the UK are 2.5 hours and reasonable if booked early. From the US, connect through Madrid or Barcelona — it's a trek, which is why Vegas exists.
Taxis from the airport are metered and fine. The party bus transfers are a rip-off with a sound system.
Where To Stay
San Antonio is the value option and where most UK groups land — sunset strip, cheaper beds, easy bar access. Playa d'en Bossa puts you next to Ushuaïa and Hï with prices to match.
Ibiza Town is the stylish middle ground: proper restaurants, the port, and easier taxis at 6am than anywhere else.
The Clubs
Book the big nights before you fly. Walk-up prices are brutal and some nights just sell out. €60–90 entry is normal and drinks inside start around €15.
DC-10 on a Monday is the connoisseur's pick. Ushuaïa finishes at midnight, which is either a feature or a bug depending on your age.
Costs
This is the expensive one. A modest big night — entry, a few drinks, taxi home — clears €150 without trying. Budget €200 a day if you're doing it properly.
Save money on daytime: supermarket beers, free beaches and the sunset at Café del Mar costs nothing if you stand slightly to the left of it.
Day Recovery
Beach clubs will happily charge you €80 for a sunbed. The actual beaches — Cala Comte, Cala Bassa — are free and better.
The Formentera day trip is the best hangover cure on the island. Ferry over, rent a scooter, eat at a beach shack, feel human again.
Dress Codes & Bouncers
Smart-ish trainers fine in most places, but the bouncers at the flagship clubs enforce vibes as much as clothes. Rowdy groups of ten in matching stag shirts do not get in. Split up, act normal, regroup inside.
The Singles Scene
International crowd, older and more style-conscious than the Greek party islands. The social energy is world-class but nobody's impressed by volume — charm beats chanting here. Everyone's there for the music first; act accordingly.
The 40+ Verdict
Ibiza after 40 is arguably better than Ibiza at 22. You can afford the hotel with the pool, the restaurant bookings, and the good tickets — and midnight finishes at Ushuaïa suddenly make perfect sense.
