Getting There
Harry Reid International is basically on the Strip. Direct flights from everywhere in the US; from the UK it's 10–11 hours direct and worth every minute of the jet lag maths.
Rideshare from the airport beats taxis. Your hotel is 10 minutes away and the driver already knows what kind of weekend you're having.
Where The Group Stays
Mid-Strip is the play: Cosmopolitan, Planet Hollywood, MGM tier depending on budget. Downtown (Fremont) is half the price with twice the old-Vegas character — great for night two.
Resort fees are a $45/night ambush on top of every advertised rate. Factor them in before the group vote, not after.
Clubs & Pools
Dayclubs (pool parties) are the main event April–October: Encore Beach Club, Wet Republic. Guys' groups pay serious cover or need table service — a table splits surprisingly okay across eight lads.
Dress codes are enforced like law. No shorts or trainers in the night clubs, and the bouncers have heard every negotiation attempt since 1995.
The Casino Bit
Set a gambling budget per person before you land and treat it as spent. Free drinks flow while you play — the maths on that is not in your favour, which is the entire business model.
Craps with the group is the most fun per dollar. The lesson costs whatever the lesson costs.
Food & Recovery
The buffet-and-steakhouse game is elite. Book the one big group dinner in advance — walking in with ten guys on a Saturday is a two-hour wait.
Recovery: hotel pool, In-N-Out run, and the Grand Canyon helicopter trip if the group's feeling flush and functional.
Costs & Common Sense
Everything costs more than the sign says: resort fees, service charges, tips on tips. Budget $500 a day to do it properly, and have a group kitty for shared damage.
What happens in Vegas is mostly on card statements. Watch your drinks, stick together late, and be suspicious of anyone extremely friendly at 3am who isn't on your trip.
The 40+ Verdict
Vegas is arguably built for the 40+ stag: you can finally afford the good hotel, the steakhouse, the show tickets and the table. Swap the 4am finish for the dayclub and it's a 10/10 trip.
