Getting There
Palma (PMI) is served by every UK airport that owns a runway, often for less than the taxi to your own airport. Transfer to Magaluf is 25 minutes — book a group minibus and the weekend starts at arrivals.
Flights get silly-cheap outside school holidays. A May stag can fly for under £50 return if the best man is organised, which he isn't.
Where The Group Stays
Stay on or just off Punta Ballena (the strip) — this is not a destination where you save money on location and taxi in. Party hotels like BH Mallorca are basically the stag do with a bed attached, and crucially, they actually take groups of blokes.
Book somewhere with a pool scene. Half of Maga happens before anyone gets dressed, and the pool party is the easiest big group event of the weekend.
The Strip
Punta Ballena is 500 metres of bars, clubs and decisions you'll defend at the wedding. Drink deals everywhere; the free-shot promoters are friendly but the free shots are a trap dressed as generosity.
There are actual rules now — no street drinking, and hotels will fine balcony behaviour. The strip survived the cleanup fine. The groom's deposit might not.
Daytime & Activities
Boat parties are the best-value big event and the natural stag centrepiece — book ahead, bring sunscreen, pace yourselves. Nobody paces themselves.
Beyond that: Katmandu Park for the hangover day, quad bikes if the insurance excess doesn't scare the best man, and Palma old town 25 minutes away for the designated culture morning nobody believes will happen.
Costs & Scams
Cheap flights, cheap beds, cheap pints. The damage comes from clubs (€15–20 entry), late-night food and the collective decision to order fishbowls.
Count your change on the strip, watch the card machine, and if a bar's prices aren't on the menu, they're whatever the bouncer says they are. Walk.
The 40+ Verdict
Only as a nostalgia stag with your original crew, in June, for two nights maximum. Any more than that and you'll see yourself in the 19-year-olds and need a long sit down.
